Roger Fradenburgh - Principal Security Architect

Mr. Fradenburgh has over 25 years of experience in information security, and he has assisted a wide variety of Fortune 500 and Government clients with translating business and security requirements into supportable solution architectures. His previous employers include Greenwich Technology Partners, General Dynamics C4 Systems, RSA Security, and Internet pioneer BBN Corporation.

At Network & Security Technologies, Mr. Fradenburgh has both led and supported NERC Cyber Security Standard gap analysis and gap remediation projects for nearly a dozen different NERC-registered Responsible Entities, including several independent system operators (ISOs). He is a frequent attendee at NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Committee (CIPC) meetings, and he is an active and contributing member of the Risk Assessment Working Group (RAWG), which is tasked with developing guidelines for compliance with Standard CIP-002-1 (“Cyber Security — Critical Cyber Asset Identification”). Mr. Fradenburgh has also participated, as a non-voting observer, in meetings of the Cyber Security for (FERC) Order 706 Standard Drafting Team.

In other projects at N&ST, Mr. Fradenburgh assisted a major electric utility with the development of a formal risk assessment methodology, performed and documented a BCP/DRP Business Impact Assessment for a financial services company, and evaluated the resilience of that company’s baseline information technology infrastructure. Mr. Fradenburgh also assessed the effectiveness of a major university’s change management processes for security systems that protect its most sensitive information processing systems.

Mr. Fradenburgh’s previous experience includes assisting a financial services company with overall security policy and program strategies based on ISO 17799, and assisting a Fortune 500 manufacturer with the selection and implementation of a host-based intrusion prevention product. He also evaluated the security of the network and computing infrastructure supporting a suite of high-value transaction applications for a New York financial services company. During his tenure with RSA Security, Mr. Fradenburgh acted as lead technical architect and project manager for several enterprise-wide deployments of PKI systems.

Mr. Fradenburgh received a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Brown University, and he is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
