Mr. Abdalla has more than nine years of industry experience in
UNIX and network security, security assessments and development
of security policy. During that time, he worked for and consulted
to Fortune 500 clients deploying, testing, and managing secure infrastructures.
Mr. Abdalla spent three years with Enron between Enron Corporate
and Enron Broadband Services. While at Enron Corporate, Mr. Abdalla
managed Enron’s Internet infrastructure worldwide. During
his tenure at Enron broadband, Mr. Abdalla developed their security
policy and instituted their information security program This included
the deployment of firewalls and intrusion detection systems, policy
development and the security architecture design for Enron Online,
Enron’s trading and financial transaction platform. While
with Enron Broadband Services, Mr. Abdalla hired and managed the
Information Systems Security team.
This team was responsible for the security of both the corporate
network and the customer network which streamed real time multimedia
content for clients. He is proficient with a wide variety of system
and network security solutions, including routers, switches, system
and network firewalls, server and network intrusion detection systems,
public key infrastructure, and digital rights management as well
as security policy.
Following his tenure at Enron, Mr. Abdalla was most recently a
Program Manager at a large consulting firm. He has assisted Fortune
500 companies to improve the security of its operations and assets
through internal and external penetration testing, security assessments
of strategic operating units, and rewriting of corporate security
policies. This work was critical in ensuring secure operations within
the organization and the integrity of their information asset.
Mr. Abdalla received a Bachelor of Science degree from The University
of Texas at Austin. While at The University of Texas, he majored
in Computer Science. Mr. Abdalla has received certifications in
numerous ISS products and in Cisco Security.
Mr. Abdalla joined Network & Security Technologies in January
2004, and lives in Houston, Texas.
