Mr. Rhodes brings over 22 years of industry experience in the Information Technology field to Network & Security Technologies. His expertise includes designing and implementing corporate network infrastructures, managing and monitoring technical and environmental systems for business effectiveness, and business process creation, improvement and implementation. During his career, he has worked with Fortune 500 companies in a wide range of industries including Retail, Utilities, Medical, Financial Services and Real Estate.

Mr. Rhodes began his career building computer and network systems for small and medium size companies, became a Senior IT Analyst with a global call center, was the Senior Network Architect and IT Manager for a large corporate real estate developer and was part of the Network Engineering team for a major telecommunications company.

Later, Mr. Rhodes served as the sole Infrastructure Management expert for a large independent generation provider where he was responsible for monitoring and managing the corporate applications, systems, and networking infrastructure. Additionally he provided the foundation for the company’s Security Incident Response process and provided consultative support for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance remediation efforts.

Just before joining N&ST, Mr. Rhodes owned and operated a successful Infrastructure Management consultancy providing all aspects of business and technical management solutions to large corporations in a variety of industries. Since joining N&ST in 2008, Mr. Rhodes provided in-depth NERC CIP compliance consulting to a fleet of coal and gas generating facilities. He took a very “hands on” approach and worked directly with the facilities to identify Critical Cyber Assets and define Electronic Security Perimeters. This included making recommendations for re-design of control system networks for minimizing Electronic and Physical Security Perimeter implementations. Mr. Rhodes developed processes and procedures for all NERC CIP requirements that were synchronized with corporate standards, with a special emphasis on CIP-005 and CIP-007.

Mr. Rhodes currently holds certifications in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and is a Hewlett Packard Certified Professional. He has previously held certifications from Cisco, Certified Network Expert (CNX), and Novell.
