| Mr. Jacobs brings over four years of experience in application
development, system and network design, as well as information
security. His career began at the Applied Physics Lab – University
of Washington (APL-UW), developing onboard computer based training
applications for the US Navy.
Prior to his work at APL-UW, Mr. Jacobs participated in the development
of classified and unclassified training and multimedia products
for the Office of Naval Intelligence, the Office of Naval Research,
the
National Science Foundation and other military agencies. Mr. Jacobs is proficient in TCP/IP based networks and applications
in addition to related security standards and technologies. He
has been responsible for system administration and information
security
where he implemented the secure, encrypted communication protocols
and services. Earlier in his career, Mr. Jacobs worked as a Projects Manager
for EduSystems Gulf, Inc., in Dubai, UAE. During that period, he
directed
the implementation of a secure network that served as the backbone
of an IP based CCTV surveillance system. His work dramatically
enhanced the academy’s security apparatus, offering security
officers access to real-time audio and video feeds to classrooms
within the
ca
mpus, using a standard personal computer. Mr. Jacobs also wrote
and maintained the comprehensive documentation for this project.
Mr. Jacobs received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University
of Washington, where he majored in the study of Near-Eastern languages.
He is also a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
Mr. Jacobs joined Network & Security Technologies in October
2003.
