Mr. Watson brings 15 years of Information Technology experience to Network & Security Technologies.
The majority of that time was spent with Gateway Computers (formerly Gateway 2000) in various technical roles of increasing responsibility. These roles ranged from Desktop Infrastructure Technical Lead, Principal Engineer (server support) and IT Manager of the Windows based server infrastructure.
For almost seven years, Mr. Watson was the IT Manager of Server Services. In this role, Mr. Watson spearheaded all support for 1,200+ Wintel servers, and 89 Linux servers. Mr. Watson supervised a large technical staff, and represented Gateway on all technical issues that required escalation to Microsoft or Symantec. Notably, Mr. Watson successfully deployed Windows 2003 and MS Exchange 2003 while consolidating the company’s Wintel Server environment 50% within six months.
Later, while working as a Principal Engineer for Gateway, Mr. Watson was responsible for supporting the Windows server farm. This included responsibility for implementing server application farms, performing day-to-day maintenance, maintaining Corporate Antivirus solutions, deployment of a large-scale system backup solution, and administration of the Microsoft Exchange 2003 infrastructure. Mr. Watson also worked on VMWare-based solutions, deploying a total of 150 virtual servers.
In his role as Principal Engineer, Mr. Watson was responsible for ensuring compliance with important cyber security standards, including Sarbanes Oxley and PCI. |
